Elaine Badgley Arnoux’s multidisciplinary artistry includes grand works in oil on canvas, sculpture in steel and bronze, and works on paper, including her prominent portraits of the famous and infamous people of San Francsico, California, and Biat, France. The extraordinary woman artist, now in her mid 90s, says in her "Shadows and Light" documentary, "I was very old when I was young. I wasn't young until I was old." The messages in her narratives that use Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes to examine the state of the world, as well as her "Portraits of San Franciscans " created over decades, and her important series' - that includes paintings, installation and performance art - on issues of war, race, political injusttice, and homelessness, are masterfully executed and realized. This authentic, from-the-soul art reflects Bedgley-Arnoux's innate talent and her willingness to remain emotionally open and vulnerable, in order to reflect what is true.
