Willard Dixon: Solo

Andra Norris Gallery is thrilled to present Solo, a one-man exhibition that features new paintings by Willard Dixon, the celebrated American realist artist who continues to capture the vast beauty of the American West. This exhibition focuses on windswept skies and water that reflect nature's abstractions through Dixon’s realist lens. The show also includes works from the artist’s various other themes.

 

Willard Dixon’s art has been shown extensively in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York, He has had over 40 one-man shows and numerous group shows. His work is in the collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in NY, The SFMOMA, and the Oakland Museum of California Art. He has executed large-scale commissions for The California Supreme Court, The Oakland Museum and The Las Vegas Federal Courthouse. He received an NEA Fellowship Grant in 1989. In 2013, one of his portraits was included in The Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition, at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC.

 

Willard Dixon was born in 1942 in Kansas City, Missouri. The exhibition coincides with the artists 80th birthday.
